It summarizes the traditional methods of coal mine safety monitoring and their limitations, and delves into the application of artificial intelligence in this field, particularly in aspects such as underground monitoring and control, personnel positioning, and communication. The study explores the significance and potential value of artificial intelligence technology in enhancing coal mine safety. The results indicate that artificial intelligence significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of coal mine safety monitoring. With technological advancements and improved data quality, artificial intelligence is poised to play a crucial role in enhancing the level of safety in coal mining and reducing the incidence of accidents.
