    Feasibility study on monitoring the geometric shape of scraper conveyor with dual core curvature sensor

    • Based on the close coordination and linkage of the coal mining machine, scraper conveyor, and hydraulic support to achieve intelligent comprehensive mining operations on the working face, this paper analyzes in detail the geometric characteristics of the scraper conveyor during the coal wall cutting process of the coal mining machine, and innovatively designs a dual core curvature sensor to monitor the strain and curvature parameters of adjacent intermediate groove components at the connection point position in the scraper conveyor in real time and dynamically. At the same time, by combining the angle recursive algorithm, the coordinate values of the front end point of any intermediate groove component are calculated. The coordinate data is summarized and subjected to curve fitting processing to reconstruct the geometric shape of the scraper conveyor. Finally, the calibration control device was used to verify the correlation between the central wavelength change value perceived by the dual core curvature sensor and the bending angle, and further verify the geometric shape characteristics of the scraper conveyor perceived during the displacement process of the dual core curvature sensor. The experimental test results all showed that the dual core curvature sensor can achieve high-precision monitoring of the geometric shape characteristics of the scraper conveyor.
